Nuru Witherspoon was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated high school in Phoenix, Arizona. Witherspoon received his B.S. from Paul Quinn College in Dallas, Texas before obtaining his law degree from The University of Mississippi, in Oxford, Mississippi.

Witherspoon’s accomplishments include some of the largest recoveries in the country and his cases have been featured on CNN, Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, and international media outlets. Witherspoon was lead counsel in many high-profile cases such as Coleman v. Ripley’s Entertainment, Inc., Jones v. Coca Cola Company, Myvett v. Federal Express Corporation, Cook v. Claw Logistics, Inc., Henley v. Home Run Inn, Jackson v. Bret Michaels, Smith v. Swift Transportation, and many recoveries against Allstate, GEICO, AIG, Liberty Mutual, USAA, State Farm, Farmers, Nationwide, Progressive, and Zurich, to name a few.
